2026 Member/Guest Results

We had a full field of 50 teams to play in our 2026 Member/Guest. We also had two beautiful days for golf. Day 1 was a shamble format and day 2 was a scramble format. We also had a shootout after Sunday’s round that featured the winning team from each flight as well as 3 randomly drawn teams.

The winner team of the Championship Flight was Cooper Dean and his guest Kyle Sapp. They posted a 66 on day 1 and a 55 on day two for a total of 121. Rodney Guy and his guest Nate Whitfield finished in 2^nd with scores of 68/60 (128). The 3^rd place team was Moe Bassett and Russell Carter posting a 68/63 (131).

In the 1^st Flight , Paul and William Woo took 1^st place with a 70/64 (134). 2^nd went to Hondo Galloway and Justin Campbell 70/65 (135) and 3^rd was Shane Cleckler and T Mashon 70/66 (136).

2nd flight results were Brandon Fincher/R Fincher in 1^st place with a 72/64 (136). 2^nd place was Moses Ngirailab /K Fowler with a 72/66 (138) and 3^rd went to Helen Spradley/ B Snow 73/68 (141).

3^rd flight 1^st place was Foo Dorsett /T Dickinson 76/69 (145). 2^nd was Sam Cooper/M Cooper 78/68 (146) and 3^rd was Andy Payant/H Payant 77/70 (147).

4^th flight results were Steven Powell/K Stubbs finishing in 1^st with a 81/77 (158). 2^nd place was Dana Davis/J Moon posting a 80/80 (160) and 3^rd place went to Jan Parton/J Gaither with a 85/77 (162).

The winning team from each flight advanced to the shootout following the day 2 round. Three more teams were randomly drawn to participate. The three teams were S Cleckler/T Mason, Blake Woo/Swancey and Chris Palmer and N Keith.

We eliminated two teams in the 1^st round, 2 teams in the 2^nd round, 1 team in the 3^rd and 1 team in the 4^th round. All rounds took place on hole #18. Dean/Sapp chipped in a birdie to take 1^st place in the shootout over B Woo/Swancey.

Labor Day Yellow Ball Dogfight Results

2026 Labor Day Yellow Ball recap

We had 64 golfers in the Labor Day Yellow Ball dogfight. They were divided into 16 four golfer teams with each team having an A,B,C & D golfer. The teams were randomly drawn on Sunday afternoon.

The regular Dogfight portion had a tie for 1^st place with both teams posting a +21 points above their quota. The teams of Steve Giddens, Neil Keith, Doug MacMurdo & Piper Teal and the team of Brandon Fincher, Shane Cleckler, Chris Palmer & Sam Cooper tied for 1^st. The 3^rd place team posting a +15 was Chris Robertson, Rich Robinson, Lee Clark & Teri Daugherty . The 4^th place team posting a +10 was Wayne Mitchell, Rae Clayton, Matthew Whisman & Amy Travis.

We had 16 Yellow Balls when we started and 14 of them returned to the clubhouse. Some of them looked pretty rough but they found their way back. Chris Robertson’s team finished in 1^st place by posting a +9 points above their quota with the Yellow Ball. The team of Paul Woo, Stan Elliott, Hondo Galloway & David Gaston came in 2^nd posting a +7. We had a tie for 3^rd between Steve Giddens’ team and Brandon Fincher’s team at +6 each.

The skins portion of the tournament is based on the play of the Yellow Ball only. Giddens’ team birdied #1 with the Yellow Ball. Fincher’s team had the only birdie on #3 for a skin. Mike Sweatman’s team had the only birdies with the Yellow ball on holes 6 & 14 for two skins. Chris Robertson’s team had the only birdie on #16 and the team of Leslie Hurst, Joseph Wood, Ryan Smith & Brayden Hay birdied #18 with the Yellow Ball. Each skin was worth $50.00 each.

The proximities on the par 3’s were worth $60ea and they were as follows. #4 at 3’2” was Michele Whisman. Michele was playing on Jeff Bullen’s team that also included Tony Parton and Jay Cooley. Cole Fincher was closest on #8 at 7’ 2”. Playing with Cole was Jason Berry, Malley Limbaugh & Mike Teal. Hole #14 at 5’8” was Mike Sweatman’ team and on #17 Rich Robinson was 2’3”. Rich was on Chris Robertson’s team.

Our next Yellow Ball is scheduled for Black Friday (Friday, Nov 27). Make plans to play. It’s a great team oriented event that allows players meet and to play with other golfers that they would not normally be playing with.

Alpine Bay Golf 2026 Club Championship

2026 Club Champion
Myles Fincher

Myles Fincher is the new Alpine Bay Golf Men’s Club Champion. Myles shot a two day score of 143 (72/71) to take 1^st place. Myles takes the cup and the $1000.00 1^st place check. There was a three way tie for 2^nd place. Jeff Bullen, Chris Robertson and BG Simmons all shot 147. In the net score portion of the Club Championship flight, Chris Robertson took 1^st place with a NET 137. Matt Hardin finished in 2^nd with a NET 138 and Ray Ferguson came in 3^rd with a 139.

We had a shoot out for the championship of the 1^st Flight between Eric Smith and Bryan Smith. Both golfers posted a 159 to tie for 1^st. The sudden death shootout took place on hole #18. Bryan made a birdie in the 1^st round to take the 1^st place prize with Eric finishing in 2^nd. Ryan Hay took the 1^st place prize in the NET portion with a 144 and Joseph Wood posted a 147 for 2^nd.

2026 Alpine Bay Golf Senior Champion
Joe Howard

Joe Howard is the new Senior Champion. Joe posted a two day 139 (72/67) to take the prize. Rodney Guy finished in 2^nd with a 143. Steven Powell posted a two day total of 134 to win 1^st place in the NET division and Tony Parton came in 2^nd with a 139.

2026 Alpine Bay Super Senior Champion
Paul Woo

The Super Senior Championship was won by Paul Woo. Paul shot a 145 (75/70) to take 1^st place. Mike Griffin finished in 2^nd just one stroke back with a 146 (76/70). Mike Griffin also took 1^st place in the NET with a 136 and he was awarded the 1^st place NET prize. (No golfer can win in both the gross and Net). Gary Burchette and Bobby Denty split the 2^nd place gross shooting 149 each. Sam Cooper finished in 2^nd in the NET division with a 141.

Rae Clayton
2026 Lady’s Club Champion

Our New Lady’s Club Champion is Rae Clayton. Rae posted a 170 to win by one stroke over the defending champion Piper Teal. Piper took 1^st place on the NET side with a NET 135.

The new Senior Lady’s Champion is Dana Davis. Dana shot a 190 to take 1^st place and Missy Bullen won the Net side with a score with a 138.

We had a great turnout for the tournament. We wound up with 79 members to play in the tournament. Thanks to all of you that participated. The maintenance crew has the course in very good shape and it played well both days. We had a pay out of over $11,500.00 in cash and club credit.
