We have received an abundant amount of Rain thus far in 2020 (17.81 inches as of the 16th of Feb). I sure would like to save some of it for the summer months, but we will take it whenever we can. The course has been Cart Path Only for several days thus far. We hope the rain will hold off long enough for us to pre emerge our fairways and greens.

#15 Tee Box

After a rainy, cold and damp morning; the Joe Haney benefit tournament began at 12 noon on Saturday. We had 22 three man teams to participate and a fun time was had by all. With the wet conditions of the course we were forced to play under the Cart Path Only rule and most of the golfers were very cooperative.

The 22 team field was divided into two flights after all the scores were posted. The team of Hughston, McNealy and Smith took 1st place with a score of 58. 2nd place went to the team of Cleckler, Cleckler and Bullen with a score of 60. There was a tie for 1st place in the 2nd flight with two teams posting a score of 68. The two teams split the 1st and 2nd place money. The teams were Naramore, Johnson and Humphries and the other team was Gaither, Hughes and Sanderson.

The senior’s longest drive on hole #3 went to Randy (Hippie) Cleckler. Closest to the pin on #4 went to Nathan Fernandez. Closest to the pin on #8 and #14 went to Cody Smith. The longest drive on #16 (White tees) went to Chris Conn. Closest to the pin on #17 went to Moses Ngirailab. The longest putt on #18 went to Todd Haney.

There was lots of draw prizes awarded and the lunch that was provided by The Shack Bar BQ was excellent. Thanks to all the teams that participated and a special thanks to all the sponsors and our staff for the hard work that they put in to make this a successful event.
