2024 Club Championship Results

2024 Alpine Bay Golf Club Championship Results

We had 57 members play in our tournament. The Lord blessed us with two magnificent days of weather for our 2024 Club Championship. No clouds, mid to upper 80s and a slight breeze. It does not get any better than that in August in Alabama.

The MGA furnished us with breakfast each day and Max Whitfield furnished doughnuts on Sunday morning. Ray Lineberry and PaPa John’s pizza provided  lunch on Sunday afternoon.

Our maintenance crew had the course in very good shape and our clubhouse staff did a great job taking care of all of the orders and deliveries. We really do appreciate all that our entire staff does for us.

Now the results:

Nathan Fernandez is our 2024 Club Champion. Nathan posted a two day score of 141 (3 under par) to take the title. Finishing in2nd place was B G Simmons and rounding out the top three was last year’s champion Chris Robertson.

Cory Baird and Matt Hardin tied for 1st place in the handicapped  portion of the championship flight with a net score of 140. Paul Woo finished 3rd with a net 142,

The 1st flight champion for 2024 is Eric Smith. Eric posted a two day total of 154 to win. 2nd place went to Foo Dorsett. In the net portion of the 1st flight, Brian Proctor posted a net score of 134 and Steven Powell had a net 137 for 2nd place.

Moses Ngirailab is our 2024 Senior Division champion. Moses shot a two day score of 149 and Skeet Harper finished in 2nd place. In the net portion of the Senior Division, Jimmy Ray took 1st with a net score of 139 and Jeff Kimbrel finished in 2nd with a net 142.

Our 2024 Super Senior champion is Bobby Denty. Bobby shot a two day total of 149 edging out Tony Evans who had a 151. Pramod Bhatia took 1st place in the net with a net score of 139. Don Hopton Jones and Matthew Power tied for 2nd with a net 144.

Another thanks to all of our Summer Season Sponsors for their support.

2024 Clear Creek Classic Results

2024 Clear Creek Classic Results

We had a full field of 44 teams to participate in our 2024 Clear Creek Classic. It was hot and humid for both days but we were fortunate enough to dodge the severe weather that was a threat on both days. We did have a brief down pour of rain near the conclusion of the second round.

The BBQ rib plate meal that was served to the golfers at the conclusion of the 1st round was wonderful and it was prepared by Half Time Bar BQ located in Lincoln AL. We held our Calcutta after the meal was served and the Flighting had been established.  Pa Pa John’s provided the pizza at the conclusion of the second day of play.

The team of Dusty Ellison, Jordan Anderton and Tragg Tew are our 2024 Clear Creek Classic Champions. They shot a round of 56 on day one and followed it up with a 58 on day two for a winning score of 114.   Two teams shot a two day total of 115 to tie for 2nd place. The team of B G Simmons, Bobby McClung and Billy Prentice was awarded 2nd place over the team of Noah Hathorne, Braylin Hathorne and Tanner Wilder. There was a call back beginning with hole #18. Both teams birdied holes 18,17 & 16 but the Simmons team also birdied #15 to decide the call back. Hathorne, Hathorne and Wilder were awarded the 3rd place prize.

In the Championship Flight Calcutta; the team of Moe Bassett, Josh Chapple and Rob Graham took 1st place with a score of 57. There was a tie for 2nd and 3rd place between the teams of Ellison, Anderton & Tew;  Rodney Guy, Nathan Fernandez & Myles Fincher; Simmons, McClung & Prentice and the team of Kennon McCarther, David Head and Brooks Friday. They all shot a 58 on day 2. 2nd and 3rd place Calcutta money was divided and split equally between the individuals that purchased each of those four teams.

The 1st Flight winning team was also determined by a call back. The team of Chris Robertson, Corey Baird and Ken Roe tied with Max Whitfield, Nate Whitfield and Jordan Whitfield. Both teams posted a two day score of 123. Robertson’s team birdied #18 while the Whitfields posted a par. Robertson’s team was awarded 1st and the Whitfields came in 2nd.

The Whitfields captured the 1st place prize in the Calcutta with a 2nd day score of 61. We had a three way tie for 2nd place which was divided and split equally again. The teams of Robertson, Baird & Roe  Jeff Bullen, Brandon Fincher & Shane Cleckler and William Woo, Blake Woo & Craig Hamilton all fired a 2nd day round of 63 to tie for 2nd place.

In The 2nd flight, the team of Steve Giddens, Paul Woo & Ray Ferguson took 1st place honors in the tournament and the Calcutta. They shot a two day total of 121 to win 1st in the tournament and a 2nd total of 58 to take the Calcutta 1st place prize. The team of Justin Strange, Bradley Lynum and Brian Barrett won 2nd place in both categories. They had a two day total of 123 and a Day 2 score of 60.

Team Fincher took 1st place in the 3rd Flight Calcutta with a 2nd day score of 63. Team Mitchell and team Harris both posted a 65 to split 2nd place.

Thanks to all of our Summer Series of tournaments Sponsors and to everyone that participated. A special thanks to the staff and volunteers of Alpine Bay for making this event happen. Ray Ferguson and the course maintenance crew did a fantastic job battling all the rain and lightning damage that we have encountered in the past few weeks. (We never complain about free rainfall).  They had the course looking good for the Classic. The men and ladies behind the counter and working the grille/beverage cart also did a fantastic job.

Once again congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to the 2025Clear Creek Classic.
