2025 Member/Member Wrap up
We had 88 members to compete in our 2025 Member/Member tournament. That is an incredible turnout for Alpine Bay. Thanks to all of you that participated. The weather forecast was not good but thankfully the rain and storms stayed away long enough on both days to allow us to get the tournament in uninterrupted. A special thanks for all the hard work that the staff at Alpine Bay do and the volunteers that help us out. We couldn’t do it without you.
The field was pre flighted into four flights according to dogfight handicap points. Day 1 was a scramble format and day 2 was a shamble format.
We served a meal after the 1st day of play that was provided by Half Time Sports Grill located in Lincoln AL. (205) 763-1599.The meal was a rib plate and it was wonderful. We conducted a Calcutta immediately after the meal. Papa John’s furnished pizza after day 2 of competition.
This is a list of the winning teams in each flight;
1st Flight Tournament: 1st place Jeff Bullen/Shane Cleckler (120), Calcutta 1st place Jeff Bullen/Shane Cleckler (58) 2nd place in the tournament and Calcutta went to BG Simmons/Nathan Fernandez (122) and (60) and the 3rd place team in the tournament was Moses Ngirailab/Rodney Guy (123) and 3rd place in the Calcutta went to Steve Giddens /Paul Woo (61).
In the 2nd Flight, Matt Hardin/Jimbo Williams took 1st place in the tournament (114) and the Calcutta (58). 2nd place in both categories went to Ken Roe/Cory Baird ((120), (60). The 3rd place team was Foo Dorsett/Ray Lineberry with scores of (123) (61). Tony Evans/Jeff Ingram tied for 3rd in the Calcutta with a (61). Tony Evans also posted a Hole in One on hole #4 during Sunday’s round. There was a tie for 4th place in the tournament between Randy Burnham/Austin Burnham & Doud MacMurdo/Tony Parton with both teams posting a two day score of (125).
The 3rd Flight winners in both categories were Bryan Smith/Hondo Galloway. They posted a (121) for the two day total and a (62) in the Calcutta. 2nd placein the tournament was a tie between Ray Ferguson/Jan Parton and Mike Bauder/Sam Bauder, both teams posting a (127). 2nd place in the Calcutta went to Jason Berry/Steve Sorrell with a (65). 3rd place in the Calcutta went to Ferguson/Parton (66). 4th place tournament winners were Andy Payant/Sam Cooper (130) and 4th in the Calcutta went to Bauder/Bauder (67).
The winners of the 4th Flight was tie between Tommy Vines/Matthew Whisman and Kevin Carpenter/Chuck Daugherty. Both teams posted a (129). There was also a tie for 3rd place between Chris Palmer/Jimmy Berning and John Harris/Brenda Vines (131). Winners in the Calcutta were Carpenter/Daugherty (65), 2nd Stan Elliott/Keith Kilgroe (67). 3rd place John Harris/Brenda Vines and 4th was a tie between Palmer/Berning & T Vines/Whisman (69).
Closest to the pin winners were Day 1 #4 and #8 Rodney Guy, #14Cory Baird and #17 David Donahoo. Day 2 went as listed #4Tony Evans (Hole in One) #8Myles Fincher, #14Foo Dorsett and #17 Nathan Fernandez
