We had a full field of 50 teams to play in our 2026 Member/Guest.  We also had two beautiful days for golf. Day 1 was a shamble format and day 2 was a scramble format.  We also had a shootout after Sunday’s round that featured the winning team from each flight as well as 3 randomly drawn teams.

The winner team  of the Championship Flight was Cooper Dean and his guest Kyle Sapp. They posted a 66 on day 1 and a 55 on day two for a total of 121. Rodney Guy and his guest Nate Whitfield finished in 2nd with scores of 68/60 (128). The 3rd place team was Moe Bassett and Russell Carter posting a 68/63 (131).

In the 1st Flight , Paul and William Woo took 1st place with a 70/64 (134). 2nd went to Hondo Galloway and Justin Campbell 70/65 (135) and 3rd was Shane Cleckler and T Mashon 70/66 (136).

2nd flight results were Brandon Fincher/R Fincher in 1st place with a 72/64 (136). 2nd place was Moses Ngirailab /K Fowler with a 72/66 (138) and 3rd went to Helen Spradley/ B Snow 73/68 (141).

3rd flight 1st place was Foo Dorsett /T Dickinson 76/69 (145). 2nd was Sam Cooper/M Cooper 78/68 (146) and 3rd was Andy Payant/H Payant  77/70 (147).

4th flight results were Steven Powell/K Stubbs finishing in 1st with a 81/77 (158). 2nd place was Dana Davis/J Moon posting a 80/80 (160) and 3rd place went to Jan Parton/J Gaither with a 85/77 (162).

The winning team from each flight advanced to the shootout following the day 2 round. Three more teams were randomly drawn to participate. The three teams were S Cleckler/T Mason, Blake Woo/Swancey and Chris Palmer and N Keith.

We eliminated two teams in the 1st round, 2 teams in the 2nd round, 1 team in the 3rd and 1 team in the 4th round. All rounds took place on hole #18. Dean/Sapp chipped in a birdie to take 1st place in the shootout over B Woo/Swancey.

Labor Day Yellow Ball Dogfight Results

2026 Labor Day Yellow Ball recap

We had 64 golfers in the Labor Day Yellow Ball dogfight. They were divided into 16 four golfer teams with each team having an A,B,C & D golfer. The teams were randomly drawn on Sunday afternoon.

The regular Dogfight portion had a tie for 1st place with both teams posting a +21 points above their quota. The teams of Steve Giddens, Neil Keith, Doug MacMurdo & Piper Teal and the team of Brandon Fincher, Shane Cleckler, Chris Palmer & Sam Cooper tied for 1st. The 3rd place team posting a +15 was Chris Robertson, Rich Robinson, Lee Clark & Teri Daugherty . The 4th place team posting a +10 was Wayne Mitchell, Rae Clayton, Matthew Whisman & Amy Travis.

We had 16 Yellow Balls when we started and 14 of them returned to the clubhouse. Some of them looked pretty rough but they found their way back. Chris Robertson’s team finished in 1st place by posting a +9 points above their quota with the Yellow Ball. The team of Paul Woo, Stan Elliott, Hondo Galloway & David Gaston came in 2nd posting a +7.  We had a tie for 3rd between Steve Giddens’ team and Brandon Fincher’s team at +6 each.

The skins portion of the tournament is based on the play of the Yellow Ball only.  Giddens’ team birdied #1 with the Yellow Ball. Fincher’s team had the only birdie on #3 for a skin. Mike Sweatman’s team had the only birdies with the Yellow ball on holes 6 & 14 for two skins. Chris Robertson’s team had the only birdie on #16 and the team of Leslie Hurst, Joseph Wood, Ryan Smith & Brayden Hay birdied #18 with the Yellow Ball. Each skin was worth $50.00 each.

The proximities on the par 3’s were worth $60ea and they were as follows. #4 at 3’2” was Michele Whisman. Michele was playing on Jeff Bullen’s team that also included Tony Parton and Jay Cooley. Cole Fincher was closest on #8 at 7’ 2”. Playing with Cole was Jason Berry, Malley Limbaugh & Mike Teal. Hole #14 at 5’8” was Mike Sweatman’ team and on #17 Rich Robinson was 2’3”. Rich was on Chris Robertson’s team.

Our next Yellow Ball is scheduled for Black Friday (Friday, Nov 27). Make plans to play. It’s a great team oriented event that allows players meet and to play with other golfers that they would not normally be playing with.
