2025 Logan Martin Civitan Scramble results
We had 43 teams to play in our 2025 Logan Martin Civitan scramble. We were blessed with a beautiful day for golf. I trust that all of the teams had a enjoyable experience here at Alpine Bay.
The field was divided into three equally divided flights based on the final scores. The overall best score went to the team of James Otwell and Noah Hathorn with a score of 63. 2nd place went to Randy Burnham and Brandon Fincher. They shot a 64 as did Rodney Guy and Greg Ganser. Burnham and Fincher birdied both 17 & 18 to win the tie breaker.
The 2nd Flight winners were Ray Lineberry and Andy Payant. 2nd place was James Hopper and Mickey Hooten. The 3rd place place team was Moe Bassett and Chris Jones. The 3rd flight winners were Mike Teal and Rich Robertson followed by Percy Jennings and Scott Cramer. Finishing in 3rd place was Bill Cotney and Tommy Vines.
The closest to the pin awards went to Kevin Carpenter on #4, Tommy Dickinson on #8, Percy Jennings on #14 and Randy Burnham on #17.
Each team had the option to purchase tickets for prize drawings. There were plenty of really good prizes given away. The 50/50 cash ticket pot was won by Max Whitfield.
We want to thank all of the local businesses that donated cash and prizes for this charity tournament. These tournaments cannot be successful without your support. We encourage all of our golfers to pay attention to the hole sponsors and to patronize them while doing business in the local area.
Thanks to all the volunteers, our staff here at Alpine Bay and all the golfers that participated.
After contemplating the factors, we have decided to remain closed today. The local forecast calls for very high winds, rain, thunderstorms, lightning, hail and the high potential for tornadoes. We hate to close on Saturdays but for the safety of our customers and staff, we feel that this is the correct decision. The weather forecast is not always correct and hopefully it will not get as bad as forecast but we cannot put our golfers and staff in danger knowing what is being predicted.
We plan to be open again tomorrow morning. Stay safe and pay attention to the weather conditions in your immediate area.
Congratulations to Don Hopton Jones.
Don aced #4 while playing in our dogfight on Friday morning March 14.
